Welcome to Iceland! Upon arrival at Reykjavik International Airport, our tour guides will help you transfer to the hotel. Complete check-in formalities and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Today, you’ll begin your day with a half-day city tour. You’ll start with a visit to the president’s residence at Bessastaoir and the town of Hafnarfjorour, which is believed to have been the home of dwarves, elves, and other hidden people. You will also explore the town’s old fishing harbour before proceeding to Perlan for a panoramic view of the capital.
Move on to HallgrÃmskirkja church, named after a national poet and clergyman. The unique design is said to resemble a lava flow, a key element of Iceland’s geography. The church took 40 years to build and is one of the city’s most famous landmarks. You’ll end the tour with a visit to Althing, the world’s oldest parliament, founded in 930.
Return to Reykjavik to spend the night at the hotel.
Today, you will embark on a whale-watching journey, sailing from Reykjavik to Faxafloi Bay. This bay is home to a variety of arctic wildlife, including whales, dolphins, puffins, gannets, and some species of gulls.
You’ll proceed to the Whale Exhibition Centre and learn more about the ocean's mysteries. The museum is converted from an old Capelin fishing vessel and offers plenty of information about whales and sea birds.
Spend the rest of the night leisurely before returning to the hotel room.
Bid adieu to the city as you catch your flight back home, or continue with the next leg of your journey.
