It was founded around 500 years ago by Kempe Gowda I, a Governor under the Vijayanagara Empire. Mysore is Bangalore’s second-most populous city. It was founded in 1399 by two brothers, Yaduraya and Krishnaraya. The town gets its name from the demon Mahishashura, who is believed to have ruled the area and was killed by the Goddess Chamundeshwari.
After breakfast, head out for a tour of Mysore City. You will visit Mysore Palace, Chamundeshwari Temple, Somnathapura Temple, Jagmohan Palace and Art Gallery, Lalitha Mahal, Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, and Brindavan Gardens.
