Today, after a hearty breakfast, head out for a short tour of Bucharest. Today, you will explore the Palace of Parliament, Stavropoleos Monastery, the National Bank of Romania, the Romanian Athenaeum, the Herastrau Park, the Village Museum, and the Arch de Triumph.
Later, you will move to Sibiu, exploring many historic villages and castles. The first stop is Poenari. The Poenari Castle is believed to be the original castle of Vlad the Impaler, the ruler of Wallachia, who is supposed to be the inspiration behind Bram Stoker’s fictional character, Count Dracula.
Continue the journey towards Sibiu, a beautiful medieval city named the European Cultural Capital, in 2007. The town offers a beautiful view of the snowy peaks of the Fagaras Mountains on the one side and the Cindrel Mountains on the other. Some of the places you will explore here include the three squares, viz., Big, Small, and Huet Squares, the Liar’s Bridge, the Clock Tower, and the Evangelical Church, one of the largest evangelical churches built in Gothic style in Transylvania.
